Diploma in Islamic Finance and Banking is designed to introduce students to the Islamic financial and banking system and how the present institution can be progressively transformed. The students will be exposed with the operational aspects of Islamic finance institutions and how it can fulfill the banking requirements of the customer. The concept and application of products such as Murabahah, Musyarakah, Mudharabah, Salam, Istis’na, Sukuk as well as Takaful and the marketing of the new products and services are adequately covered. In addition to the programme, the students will also be taught in business and finance subject from the Islamic perspective among others to enhance their competencies in soft skills for the future.
Possess SPM or its equivalent with a minimum of a Credit in 3 subjects and a pass in Mathematics; or
Pass STPM or its equivalent with a minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any subject; or
Pass STAM with a minimum grade of Maqbul; or
Pass SKM Level 3 (MQF Level 3) in a related field. (PPT is required to conduct screening and a suitable reinforcement program related to the field of study).
Pass a Certificate (MQF Level 3) or its equivalent in Muamalat and Islamic Finance or a related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00. AND
Pass Arabic at the SPM/equivalent level. (for admission to the Muamalat and Halal Management program)

The Senate/Academic Board of the PPT must establish appropriate competency requirements.
i) The requirement to pass Mathematics at the SPM level for candidates under (i) may be waived if the candidate possesses other qualifications that include Mathematics with an equivalent or higher achievement
ii) Candidates for the Muamalat and Halal Management program who do not have a pass in Arabic at the SPM/equivalent level must undergo an Arabic reinforcement course at the beginning of their studies
iii) The requirement for the Arabic reinforcement course also applies to candidates of the Islamic Economics, Islamic Finance, and Muamalat Administration programs, except for students who have passed Arabic at the SPM/equivalent level
iv) Students must pass the Arabic reinforcement course as a prerequisite before taking related core courses
However, this requirement does not prevent students from enrolling in other courses, whether core or non-core, that do not require the Arabic reinforcement course
v) The credit value for the Arabic reinforcement course is an additional credit to the program and may be considered for graduation credit purposes
